I mean, you just can't use respec and mercenaries mechanic anymore. Losing Hilor - you actually lose something which there is nothing to compensate for. There is exceptions is that you lose a choice at the council if someone dead or not in your party, but there is always an alternatives - different choices. Or at least not to just delay that mechanics for just replace poor Hilor with a new NPC. If you sad about Hilor as a character - you are welcome.īut don't take mechanics out of the game. But, their death does not lead to the loss of some of the mechanics (earlier I said "content" - may be it was not an entirely accurate definition).
To do this, we have in the first place different mythical paths in Pathfinder.Ĭharacters can also die. but at least they would remember our story :) - clarifications:Ĭhoice really matters and it is fun when it comes to plot twists. If we kill someone from player party (like famous Aeris in FF7) or important - then tons of players would became angry. If we kill unimportant character - then players don't care about another "red-shirt" and it's looking stupid. Originally posted by corisai:That's unavoidable side-effect of making any major plot twist :) You want Bioware-type of choices, where they all lead to same outcomes, right? Or you accept that some outcomes have "undesirable weight". This is very long text for idea: "I want game to make it look like my choices matter, but there should not be any bad outcomes no matter what choices i do". In addition, this was unexpected for the reason that there literally an option in the menu is responsible for respec, which can be enabled or disabled at will, which gives the impression that the opportunity will be provided anyway.īut at least I'm glad they left this opportunity at the end of the chapter.
Yes, undoubtedly, this is a player's mistake, due to his inattention (in any case, if you did not read the task carefully, or simply did not find your way before going to the tavern).īut nevertheless, I think it is kinda dirty, to use the inattention of the player to literally punish by depriving him of such an important big element of the gameplay. Moreover, they left the replacement at the end of the chapter anyway (why not do it earlier?). I would say that this is a bad decision in current situation - cutting off player from literally some of the important content. It would be fascinating in general, among other similar consequences.īut, in this case, I still think it is controversial to leave only one consequence with such an undesirable weight. Yes, I also think that it would be great if the game really had more decisions that have such important consequences for the player.
That's actually great and we need more events like this. Originally posted by corisai:And? Your decisions have a consequences (game warn you about you're making a tough choice).
